The Proposal
There is a day in a woman's life that will always be worthy of memory and that is her proposal day.
August 18, 2011 is the day when Mike proposed to me. It is also his 32nd birthday. Kind of like hitting two birds with one stone so to speak. It has been a very special day for both of us.
Mike's proposal didn't turn out as he expect it to happen. He was planning on planting the ring on my finger while I was asleep as he wants to see my reaction when I wake up. Of course on that day, I couldn't sleep right away as I await for his arrival at home. However, still on that same day I fell asleep at the strike of midnight when I shouldn't be because I was planning on surprising Mike with a birthday cake.
It's funny though, things may not have turned out as planned but still we are both incredibly happy. I was almost teary-eyed when he pulled out the red box, opened it and popped in the big question to me. He even gave me a bouquet of flowers because never in his life when we were together that he has offered flowers to me. It might not have been the most creative gesture that I've been dreaming of (I'm a person who has a lot of flair for drama so go figure!) but still I feel like a princess!
So now I can finally say that I am officially engaged. I didn't expect a single ring to affect me and change certain ways in my life. In a way I feel different, knowing that there's a person out there who has finally wanted to share his lifetime with me.
