A Past Awakened

Can this mind be fully clear of the past?
Memories that relentlessly torment my existence
Oh, pain please leave and hurry fast!
My heart needs to recover its normal essence.

I sleep in a peaceful dream for a decade
Who would have known I can awaken the dead?
The feelings in slumber awoke with a grenade
Became my ghosts to haunt me with dread.

I eluded but was exhausted from the chase
Hence I locked them in a void hidden forever
Hoping they won't ever escape the place,
So for the future, my heart can surrender.
