Crippled Nation

I cast my eye upon the vast gloomy sunrise
A harbinger of future tragedies to come
Tomorrow's hope is slipping to its gradual demise
A nation crippled with moral decay and slum.

Our government's neglect reflect our nation's nature
A corruption poisoning the blood of our society
No wonder it's a jungle, each is his own master
We are the enemies of our own country.

When we are going to see beneath our blindfolds
Take action on the discipline we always lack of?
Where's the honor and dignity we fight to uphold?
Our country that we have failed to love.

A nationalistic poem dedicated to my country, the Philippines.
